Reclusive British crime novelist \nNora Shaw can't figure out why she's been invited to Clare Cavendish's \nbachelorette party. Although they were best friends in high school\, she \nhasn't seen Clare in years. Her curiosity gets the better of her\, and \nshe soon finds herself in rural Northumberland in a gleaming modern \nhouse set deep in the woods. But there's no cell-phone service\, the \nhostess is gratingly perky\, and Clare delivers a bombshell by revealing \nwhom she is about to marry and that all occurs before Nora lands in the \nhospital with some very serious injuries and no memory of what happened.\n Ware not only conjures a sinister atmosphere\, made all the creepier \nbecause it is such a beautiful house in a beautiful setting\, but she \nalso cleverly plays off the fraught dynamics of a hen party where no one\n seems particularly happy for the prospective bride. And the fast pace \nand intriguing secondary characters add a good deal of texture to the \nmix.--Wilkinson\, Joanne Copyright 2015 Booklist\nImage URL: https://s3.amazonaws.com/static.evanced.info/Customer/jcpl/DARK_DARK_WOOD_7F495C32.JPG X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
